Magna Vista HS

Warriors ︎ Knights

Magna Vista was another school that had a pretty straightforward redesign. As I was looking at the school’s logo, I noticed a photo of a mural inside of the school that used the M and V of the school’s name to make a shape similar to a reading from an ECG and I knew at that point I wanted to try and incorporate those letters in the new design. At the time, I also was thinking about keeping the nickname “Warriors” since it can be used in multiple contexts and time periods. Similar to Gar-field, I googled the word Warrior and immediately saw a lot of knights and Roman soldiers. This is where I got the idea to create a sword and shield-based design that could include the M and V almost seamlessly. After giving it some thought and talking with my classmates, I decided to drop the name Warriors and choose to use Knights instead.

THE NEW IDENTITIES

The seven high schools I choose to rebrand are Monocan, Fort Defiance, Gar-field, Northumberland, Southampton, Kecoughtan, and Magna Vista. Each new icon has some sort of significance to the school or the area the school is in.
